Kathleen Chloe Mascardo, DMD, MMSc
Dr. Mascardo’s Office:
Growing up in a family of dentists, Dr. Mascardo was exposed to oral surgery and dental implants at an early age. She draws inspiration from her parents who pioneered in bringing oral implantology to Southern Philippines in the early 1990s. This long legacy of patient care led her to develop a passion for surgical procedures, which brought her to the Northeast in search of the highest level of education and clinical training.
Dr. Mascardo holds two Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degrees from the Davao Medical School Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating from DMSF in 2013, she placed 6th out of nearly 1,000 examinees in the rigorous Philippine Dental Board Examinations and was given the Presidential Scholarship Award for exceptional achievement. In 2019, she graduated at the top of her class from the University of Pennsylvania with a full spectrum of honors and awards in Periodontics, Endodontics, and Prosthodontics, which culminated with an induction into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honor Society.
Dr. Mascardo ultimately followed her passion and pursued a surgical specialty to further elevate her comprehensive multispecialty training. She graduated from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine with a Certificate in Periodontology and Master of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology (MMSc). She worked extensively with other dental specialties in treating complex cases and was distinguished with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) Award for having demonstrated exceptional academic and clinical achievement in Dental Implantology.
With over 10 years of experience, Dr. Mascardo is known for her gentle touch and caring approach. She is skilled in all aspects of periodontal surgery, extractions, soft tissue grafting, sinus lifts, laser therapy, peri-implantitis management, and full-arch dental implants. She has a special interest in the use of growth factors for periodontal regeneration and extensive bone grafting procedures. Above all else, she practices with empathy, compassion, and honest communication when treating patients. She appreciates the trust that patients and referring dentists have put in her hands, and she is excited to provide the highest level of periodontal care to our greater community.
Outside of Dentistry, Dr. Mascardo is a former soccer varsity player, as well as an artist, writer, and foodie. She owned a restaurant for 7 years (ended only by covid-19) and has a great love for travel, food, and discovering different cultures through its cuisines. She is equally passionate about charitable causes that advocate for women, children, and people with disabilities. Throughout the years, she has spearheaded charity missions to deliver much needed services to the Davao School for the Blind and Southern Philippines Medical Center - House of Hope Children’s Cancer Center. Dr. Mascardo is a strong believer in the healing power of compassionate human touch, which she strives to practice in everyday patient care.
In November of 2023, Dr. Mascardo received the esteemed Dr. Mark Setter Leadership in Periodontology & Dental Implantology Award. This award is designed to honor a periodontist who embodies key leadership qualities, including courage, inspiration, and innovation.
